10 Fictional Sporting Events You’d Want To Be At

By Jeremy Suede on January 12th, 2010

The guys over at FunnyCrave.com have come out with a list of the Top 10 Fictional Sporting Event’s We’d Pay Good Money to Attend, and I must say I can’t argue with a single one.

10. The Diving Meet from Back to School

Rodney Dangerfield pulling a Triple Lindy in that old school bathing suit, who wouldn’t want to see that live?

9. The Bowling Finals from Kingpin

Not only do you get to see Bill Murray’s awesome hair, you get to see the beautiful rose bowling ball. Oh yeah and an amputee.

8. The Boxing Match in Diggstown

Okay, I”ll be honest, I have never seen this movie and the writer of the list admits that most haven’t. But the movie had me at “Louis Gossett Jr.,” because you can’t go wrong with Mr. Iron Eagle himself in a boxing match.

7. The 1 Game Play-In from Major League

You’d get to see a game-winning suicide squeeze play, Cerano hit a monster homerun, Rick ‘Wild Thing’ Vaughn make his entrance, Willy ‘Mays’ Hayes steal 2nd, 3rd and home, and to top it all off, the Yankees lose. A baseball fan’s dream.

6. Roy Hobbs’ Last Game

It woulnd’t be the same without the slow motion and music, but the game winning homerun off that smashes the stadium lights creating a showers of sparks. How cool would that be?

5. Steve Nebraska’s Pitching Debut from The Scout

So what if the actual movie sucked, being there to see a 27 pitch perfect game would just be outstanding.

4. The Basketball Game Where Scott “Wolfs Out” in Teen Wolf

A basketball playing werewolf. A fucking mythical creature playing basketball! Wouldn’t you just love to say you saw it in person? Plus you would get to see the fattest basketball player ever. Double score.

3. The Final Fight in Rocky IV

Well besides the fact that you’d be an American in a hostile Russia in the middle of the Cold War, this would be awesome. You’d actually get to see Ivan tell Rocky, “I must break you.” See if you can get a member of the KGB to autograph your ticket before you get thrown in prison.

2. Seattle Mariners vs. California Angels game from Naked Gun

Not only would you be there with the Queen of England, you’d get to see Reggie Jackson try and shoot her. Plus Leslie Neilson singing the National Anthem and being the greatest home-plate umpire ever. A baseball fan’s dream.

1. The Soccer Match in Victory

Again another movie I haven’t seen, but anytime the little guys get to take down the Nazis you would want to be there.

I can think of a couple they missed though. What about you? Comment below on which they missed and which you would have on your list.

Brilliant idea for a post. I'd probably add the final Karate Kid match as well. Speaking of things we'd like to see, here's an idea I had for a pay-per-view event. Whaddaya think? http://sportschump.net/2010/01/15/the-pay-per-view-event-we-would-all-like-to-see/2707/
