Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins Split

Well, this is news. This is unexpected. Hollywood’s power couple of the last umpteen years, has suddenly broke up. No word on whether Tim Robbins was slowly tunneling his way out of the house for years, but in my head, he was. And no word on whether Susan Sarandon will kill herself after her finances are wrecked, but….no, chances are she won’t.

They’ve been together almost longer than I’ve been alive. Every single awards show I’ve seen, Tim Robbins has shown up with Susan Sarandon. And her awe-inspiring breasts. Oh yes, gentle readers. Susan Sarandon has awe-inspiring boobs. She has for years. In fact, I’m almost blissfully unaware of her cinematic output, save for watching the Banger Sisters and Dead Man Walking while stoned on two separate occasions. 23 years of marriage. That’s a bit nutty. I can’t even imagine that.

The couple met in 1988 on the set of Bull Durham. Sarandon is starring in The Lovely Bones, which opens soon. Initial word of mouth hasn’t been good. Or so I’ve heard, from Tim Robbins. Maybe he can rage against relationships now instead of political injustice. Maybe.

I’m going to watch Dead Man Walking now. Just so I can see her act opposite Sean Penn’s hair. It’ll be a hard Christmas sell to my family, but I think it’ll be worth it.
