I’ve always thought it would be funny to force Eric Clapton to share an award with ABBA, and now, thankfully, reality has obliged. ABBA has just been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Apparently being used ironically at hipster parties somehow makes you eligible for entry to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. By that logic the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should also allow in Warrant, Donald Rumsfeld and whoever penned the Three’s Company theme song.
Allowing ABBA into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame is like allowing the band Oasis to do or say anything, ever.
When asked why he had decided to include ABBA in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, museum president Terry Stewart couldn’t be reached for comment, because he was busy committing Hari Kari suicide with the sharp end of a “Dancing Queen” single album. When we tried to reach ABBA for comment they were too busy being taken to Hell to fulfill their part of the bargain they made with the devil.
I don’t want to come off as being unfair to ABBA. I actually like the song “Mamma Mia,” but that is because I have terrible, terrible taste in music.
Apparently a large part of why ABBA got in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year was that the competition wasn’t that stiff. The list of nominees this year was ABBA, Papa Roach, and a clip of Jim Carrey singing “Somebody To Love” from The Cable Guy.

ABBA was beyond brilliant. It's about time they were inducted. The produced the best music ever. ABBA rocks and I can't believe anybody would think otherwise.

ABBA made their best stuff long after Mamma Mia, and it is a pity people still judge them on this. They made quite sophisticated adult pop in their latter years- and I hope it is for this reason they received this recognition. It's a long time coming, and quite frankly, well deserved for a group that comes from a country where English is not the first language. The fact that their music is still played almost 30 years after they broke up says something about the power of Bjorn and Benny's production and songwriting and Agnetha and Anni-Frid's angelic singing. Congratulations ABBA!

Wow...you are so biased. Without ABBA there wouldnt have been a Madonna, a New Order, or a Lady Gaga. They deserve to be in it. So hut the fuck up Daniel Dominguez. Who the fuck pays thrid class inbreds to comment on real music?

ABBA is great. It was about time that they wre includud into the Rock and roll Hall of fame. Many music colleages like U2, Elvis Costello, Johnny Rotten, Nick Lowe, etc.. are fans. They've had so many big hits in many countries all over the world, so they really knew how to make great popmusic! Max

I have no problem with ABBA making the HOF. They wrote all their own music, every album was great, their concerts were spectacular, Benny and Bjorn had a melodic gift all but nonexistent in this day and age.
