Ron-Wod-1That’s one thing I’m looking forward to. When I’m old, the possibility of dating a Russian woman 41 years younger than me, so she can make allusions to old fairy tales. It doesn’t even have to involve goblins. She could be like, “He was like the fairy princess in Cinderella,” and I’ll know my bizarre place in pop culture history is secure.

For those of you unawares, Ron Wood is a guitarist for the world famous Rolling Stones. He started off in The Faces, the group that launched his and Rod Stewart’s careers. He’s a brilliant guitarist and artist, and also, a raging alcoholic. Like, apparently doesn’t like to eat, but really enjoys drinking. It is perhaps this penchant for drinking that made him split up with his wife for a 21-year-old Russian waitress. He refuses to go to rehab, and instead takes out his fury on hipsters who wish to have sex with him.

“The whole thing started off like a fairy tale. But then it felt like an evil fairy tale. When Ronnie and I moved into a tower, my friends were laughing and saying I was like the princess trapped in the tower. He went all Jekyll and Hyde. I’d be trapped there with an evil Goblin King.”

It’s a silly thing that I have, but I hope most Eastern European women come equipped with with fairy-tale allusions ready-made. Members of the Rolling Stones have often been compared to mythical creatures. Mick Jagger’s nickname in college, after all, was Mick ‘The Gryffin’ Jagger.
