You know you love Wes Anderson films even though they’re all about misunderstood geniuses. His latest flick, the stop-motion “The Fantastic Mr. Fox,” is no exception. It’s about a fantastic fox who outwits some farmers. See, the farmers are a little pissed off that the fox keeps stealing their stuff and they try all sorts of things to kill Mr. Fox, but the most they manage to do is blast off Mr. Fox’s tail because he’s smart. Like a fox. You remember the book, right?
Like most Anderson movies, this one has a diverse soundtrack with lots of quirky, whimsical tunes. It’s got tracks by The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, The Wellingtons and Jarvis Cocker. And we want to give you one, signed by Wes and Jason Schwartzman. And since it’s getting close to Christmas time and we’re full of holiday cheer, we also want to give you a hardcover copy of the book which chronicles the making of the film and a faux-fur Mr. Fox tie that looks like a fox tail. It’s just what you always wanted, isn’t it?

While I am listening, I will be watch my 3 and 6 year olds dancing because they LOVED the movie. I enjoyed it as well, and found myself laughing to tears at 2 specific points in the movie: When Mr. Fox ate the pancakes, and when the guy yelled "can someone divide that by 9?" during the game of Whackbat.

First of all, the CD is going into be played through the surround stereo in my living room. I will sit on my couch with the paperback copy of "Fantastic Mr. Fox" that was given to me in the third grade. I may read it (for the +/- 100,000th time), or I may just hold it while I sit there, listening with a big ol' stupid grin on my face. My husband will laugh at me, but I don't care. When the CD ends, I will restart it.
