America’s 15 Hottest Comediennes

While the great majority of mainstream comedic talent is male, we need to stop and take note of the growing number of comediennes in the industry. Sadly, many of those women only help to reinforce the stereotypes that keep men at the forefront of Comedy. Luckily for us, not all of them fail, and those that do get through it all tend to have the added bonus of being very hot. Here we take a look at some of those women; these are the 15 hottest comediennes roaming America today.

Tina Fey

Tina Fey made waves in 2008 when she brought more viewers to Saturday Night Live than they’d had seen in years — and for good reason. She not only managed to pull off a near-perfect impersonation of Sarah Palin, but made her hot in the process. Despite the massive fetish-following for the former Governor of Alaska (and grandmother), Palin never looked nearly as good as her farcical counterpart did. Fey was already successful on 30 Rock and many other projects after leaving SNL several years ago, but her guest-return to the show during the recent election season got all eyes on her.

This fiery redhead is a former Hooters Girl out of Pennsylvania, and she’s fully aware of just how amazingly hot she is. She caught her big break in Last Comic Standing, which allowed her access to far larger audiences than the small venues she was so used to wooing. Now, in between her time touring comedy clubs nationwide, she’s a favorite guest on the Howard Stern Show and she hangs out with comedians like Jo Koy in her spare time. There’s no mistake — this girl’s on the way up, and with looks like hers, we can only hope to see more of her.

Whitney Cummings

Drop-dead gorgeous Whitney Cummings may be stunningly beautiful, but she’s got a mouth that could make prison guards blush, and wit to match. Only 27 years old, Cummings has already managed to get herself in on the roast of Joan Rivers, in which she delivered some of the funniest jokes of the evening to an audience larger than she’d ever performed in front of before. Aside from that, she’s spent time on MTV’s Punk’d, is a regular on Chelsea Lately, and writes for or has written for numerous major comedy productions.

Abby Elliott

Daughter of much-loved Chris Elliott, Abby didn’t fall too far from the tree. She did, however, fall far enough to come out looking the way she does, and for that we are all thankful. The young comedienne is now in her sophomore season on SNL, her biggest break to date, and she’s also done voice work for King of the Hill and Minoriteam.

Kristen Wiig

This native New Yorker is now on her fifth season of SNL and has more big names in the industry attached to her than most could ever dream of meeting. She’s been in such notable movies as Knocked Up, Walk Hard, Ghost Town and Adventureland, and she shows no sign of stopping there. We expect to see far more of Kristen Wiig in the years to come.

Nasim Pedrad

Just starting her career, now in her freshman year at SNL, Nasim Pedrad looks more than promising. A native Iranian, Nasim grew up in California and graduated from UCLA before making her way to New York. Once she hit TV screens, there was no going back, and audiences took note of the new girl. She instantly became a fan-favorite — causing millions of internal monologues debating whether to think of her as sexy or adorable. We choose both.

Aisha Tyler

Appearing in many B-movies and mainstream TV shows, Aisha Tyler is on her way nowhere but up. She’s played some pretty silly roles, but even some of the worst among them can be counted as fairly great — roles like Shaq’s girlfriend in Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Mahogany in Balls of Fury. She’s got the looks and the sense of humor to pull off just about anything, and odds are in her favor that she’ll be around for quite some time to come.

Known for her spots as a regular on Chelsea Lately as well as The Best Damn Sports Show Period, this native Californian makes her way around the major comedy studios like nobody’s business. She’s been nearly everywhere and filmed nearly everything, starting off with commercials for Sears and working her way up to spots alongside Bill Murray and George Lopez. Expect to see more of her, and expect to enjoy it.

Crista’s got a definite girl next door look, and it looks good on her. Now 33, she’s become a main cast member of MADtv, as well as played roles in productions like Epic Movie, Curb Your Enthusiasm and even spent some time working with the folks at Ask a Ninja.

Chelsea Handler

Many thoughts come to mind when a man thinks of Chelsea Handler, and they’re all dirty. The best part about that is her attitude — it doesn’t bother her one bit. A Jersey native, Chelsea quickly made a name for herself and then some — she’s even made the New York Times Best Seller’s List twice. She spends most of her time these days running her own show, Chelsea Lately on the E! network.

Margaret Cho

While she may play some more serious roles from time to time, and is even known for her actually quite successful campaigns on behalf of Gay and Women’s Rights movements, Cho is and has always been a hilariously sexual comedienne. Unlike so many others in her field, Cho still feels at home on stage, with a mic in her hand and an audience eating out of her palm. She’s been at this a long time, and she’s only gotten better as she’s gotten dirtier and more comfortable in her laurels.

Lynne Koplitz

Premium Blend graduate and friend of none other than Lewis Black himself, Lynne Koplitz is on her way up. She’s set to host her very own comedy special on Comedy Central this year, and she’s even made it to the New York Friar’s Club, and helped roast Chevy Chase.

Kristen Schaal

Often thought of as cute, Kristen definitely has a girl next door vibe going on with her, but that doesn’t stop her from getting down and dirty every chance she gets in her skits on both The Daily Show and Flight of the Conchords. She’s not just confined to the big networks, either — she’s done voice work for Aqua Teen Hunger Force and guest spots on How I Met Your Mother, as well as skits for Human Giant.

Working alongside Tina Fey on SNL as well as in other projects like Mean Girls and Baby Mama, Amy Poelher is no stranger to showbiz or the glam parts that come with it. She’s been in numerous other shows and movies, including one of her best known roles ever — Ruth the Tourette’s Girl, from Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.

Few know that she was actually fired from the writing team at SNL back before her career had really even started.
