? Degrees to Hitler

Pogs, Pokemon cards, Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Every couple of years the kids all get into a new craze that confuses and terrifies old people who don’t understand it. I remember when I was 12 and I brought my pogs to my grandma’s house for the first time and she thought it was witchcraft. After a harrowing seven weeks locked in her basement going through test after test to prove that I wasn’t a witch, I was released. And by that time the pog fad was completely over. I was totally p’d off, but what could I do? Now there’s a fun new game that all the kids are into, and here’s my chance to ride the wave with everybody else. It’s easy and you can play too!

The Game:  ? Wiki Degrees to Hitler

Go on Wikipedia. Find the most random thing you can find on Wikipedia, and then see how many links you can click on until you get to the Wiki page for Hitler. The goal, the less wiki link clicks the better. Bonus points the more unlikely the link.

It’s a pretty fun game, and my friend Jason has the record so far, with two Wiki clicks from  ” 2010 NHL Entry Drafts” to Hitler.

It’s like Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, but on Wikipedia, and with Hitler. Which obeys the basic rule that if you add Hitler to any game it’s exactly 150% percent more fun. This especially applies to Freeze Tag.

Fun Trivia: Did you know that both Kevin Bacon and Hitler were up for the same role in Wild Things, but Kevin Bacon ended up getting the role because producers felt he was more believable in a threesome?

But don’t stop there! There are lots of fun variations on this game, the harder the better:

How many YouTube links until you get to “Leave Britney Spears Alone”?

How many Facebook friends until you get to someone you’ve masturbated to?

How many Manolith links until you get to a List can you click on without getting to a story that doesn’t mention a celebrity or beer?
