Susan Boyle Isn’t Cracking

Susan-Boyle-1

Way to go, fame. It looks like another perfectly ordinary person is about to turn into a stark-raving lunatic because you’ve been thrust on her without her consent. Only, not really. The Daily Mail is reporting that Susan Boyle has suffered another breakdown, during a meet and greet with fans. Only one problem: it didn’t happen.

Susan Boyle, for those of you who are unaware, is about to spank Eminem. Her album will surpass Relapse as the fastest selling album of the year, and it’s pretty much doing the same worldwide. Her tour has been selling out, and she was having a grand old time singing in New York, when 150 fans presented her with a quilt for herself and a miniature one for her cat. Which sounds pretty ridiculous, but these are Susan Boyle fans. The Daily Mail got pictures of her joking around, sucking her thumb, and crying out of joy, and published it under the heading that she was on her way toward another nervous breakdown. Which is false.

Even if Susan Boyle has another nervous breakdown at this point, due to the fame, intense media scrutiny, and the crack cocaine, we shouldn’t revel in it. We need to think of her family. We need to think of her cats.

The quilt project was an act of love from people of every state in the US, 27 countries, and every continent including Antarctica. Also, some pretty big names are included. Four months of devotion, global coordination and sacrifice from some talented people brought it together, and with the help of Susan's team, a truly beautiful time of love, laughter and a few tears of joy gave Susan and many fans a very special and gratifying time of expressing appreciation for her. And being nice people, we love our pets and hers, and of course included gorgeous Pebbles in the gift. This event was the rare kind that makes a lifetime memory, and Susan certainly understood and appreciated "where her fans were coming from." There was a moment of sharing heart-to-heart, and it was precious to all. We thank Susan for taking time and her staff for recognizing the value of this project.

Susan was very generous in taking the time to have brunch with her fans. The fact that so many people contributed to the quilt was an act of love. Susan's fans love not only her music but love her as well. That is a powerful combination. Susan's fans are fiercely loyal, I think Susan's critics should think twice about the lies they spread. It might come back and bite them someday.

Mark, I love these comments. I am a Susan Boyle fan, and I am probably a lunatic, but no way is she. You were absolutely correct about the fun she was having with her fans in NYC. Susan appears to have this razor-sharp, incredible wit and is so funny when she "goofs off" with her fans. I hope that one day I can see her in person and "goof off" with her myself. I know that I could out-wiggle her. Joking aside, she is a great lady and an awesome performer.

Please stop using old pics of Susan Boyle. She doesn't look like that anymore for one thing, because she has lost a lot of weight, and with just a touch of makeup and hair color, she looks beautiful, but natural. Please show her a little respect. Maybe it's a UK thing, but in America, handmade quilts are beautiful and a treasure. Susan surely will treasure hers because of the 163 participants from all 7 continents. On cold nights, she can look at those beautiful quilt squares and know she is loved . . . all around the world. And Manolith.com would be also if they would print the truth and show some respect.

Waddleduck is correct about those pics of Susan Boyle. I didn't even look at the pics until her comments. Susan is lovely now, and she didn't need botox to do it.

I wonder if any of these so called caring fans made blankets for the homeless? Stupid is a stupid does.

LOL, do you really imagine that people who would go to this trouble for one person would ignore those in need? The homeless need practical blankets and clothing more than hand-sewn quilts, but you can be sure these same caring fans are as giving to them as you are.

And Mark, thank you for setting the record straight. In fact the thumb thing was in joking response to the question of taking her career in "baby steps." And the Daily Mail knows it but doesn't care.

I doubt it Dave because you know why? Those fans want to get their mugs in the news. People who really do good things for others never get in the news. Did any of them help feed the hungry on Thanksgiving or invite a lonely person into their homes? No because all they were thinking of was getting to the city to see Susan and meet with her so they can be on TV too. These are selfish people who want everyone to think they are kind and caring people. They pushed and shoved their way to the front of the line to get as close to Susan as they could. One I call the jolly green giant pushed her way to the front and blocked the view of several others. Save your speech Dave.

No Dave, actually what really happened was her fans were telling Susan to do concerts all over the US in their towns and cities which made Susan very nervous. She felt she was being pressured. They gave her a gift and were now expecting her to perform more concerts for them. Then they were getting her to stand up and wiggle for them like she did on TV. It was pathetic the way they were all laughing at her, treating her like a child, and mocking her. Made me sick.

LOL, you are such a pompous, arrogant "being." How dare you set yourself up as God to judge other people, and YES, I'm part of that group of fans who contributed to the quilt and YES, I help the poor and needy EVERY MONTH through local and international charities. How much of YOUR income do YOU give to help the poor and needy. The quilt was an act of love by fan's of Susan Boyle's because she is a woman of beautiful character as well as beautiful voice. No one was mocking her, you imbecile. Why idiots like you want to comment on things they know nothing about, I don't know. You apparently don't know women either. We like getting together and laughing together and joking and giving gifts to someone we choose to honor whether it's a bridal shower, a birthday, OR LOVE OF SUSAN BOYLE!

Honestly, I don't know why I am even taking time to respond to Dave, but, sir, I have some questions for you: Did you invite any homeless or friendless people to your house for Thanksgiving? (And I don't mean your best buddy whose family lives on the other side of the US) What have you done for the homeless this year? How much of your income have you contributed to them? Just curious, since you are on a roll here......

I am a woman and I wouldnt get together with a bunch of celebrity crazed nuts hooting and hollering over a stranger who sings. Its embarrassing to see Americans behave like that. Did you make a blanket for your elderly mother? I'll bet you bought her a Susan CD though. Big flipping deal. And yes both my husband and myself volunteered at the food bank making Thanksgiving dinner for the unfortunate. People who have lost their jobs and their homes. One of your fans got a birthday cake for her daughter and put a candle on it for Susan too. How moronic is that? I swear you care more for Susan Boyle than you do your own families let alone your neighbor who lost his job. Your priorities are messed up and its about time someone told you so.

While it is nice to see someone call out and try to correct The Daily Mail, you got an awful lot of your facts WRONG! What tour? (research that) She's not in New York - she's home in Scotland Susan has 1 and only 1 cat named Pebbles Susan's fans are not all cat people as you implied - they are people of all ages from all countries of all varying degrees of success. I believe Susan met with 80 fans in New York, but I'm not completely sure (so research that too). Is there a writer in the UK capable of writing about Susan without it being full of backhanded compliments? You might get more readers, more attention, and more success if you could just be nice to the woman. This concludes my visit to yet another 1 stop website. No need to come back here to read drool from another wanna be journalist.

Susan's fans did a great job making the quilt for Susan. It is appreciation of a very lovely woman with a hard life. I was crying myself watching this video. I am proud for real Susan's fans and I am sure that they help more to people in need than LOL and others like she. LOL is a very jealous person who talks much but is doing nothing. Poor person. Jealous people are sick one.

I am sorry, Dave. My previous comments were meant for our extremely judgmental LOL, not you. She figured it out, though. Why are you making such a big deal of this, LOL? Were you ever a Beatles fan? How about all the men out there who love Michael Jordan and other sports heroes? Are you on other forums judging them also? Or how about our African-American community who are just as proud of Barak Obama? Are their priorities also mixed up? Must I take the time to enlighten you that many folks like to have heroes to admire, whether it is a singer, a President, a sports hero, Captain Sully, their local priest, etc? It just adds some hope to their lives. What is wrong with that? Oh, but I am sure that you will tell me!!! Ha, ha!

Is that what you teach your children? That celebrities and football stars are heroes? You need to grow up. Maybe your problem is, you're old and don't want to be old. The blanket was a way for you to get attention except you won't admit it. BTW Susan didn't have a hard life. She had two loving parents who supported her. You're as gullible as a bunch of two year olds. None of you have a clue as to what a hard life is. You live in lala land.

LOL, you keep digging your hole deeper and deeper. Have you no idea how insensitive and utterly crass you come across? You seem very proud of the fact that you and your husband helped at the food bank on Thanksgiving. That seems to be the limit of your charity because all I see in your comments here is ugly and hateful. Without love your are nothing but a noisey gong and a clanging cymbal. There is an immense amount of love and goodwill being shared across the planet because of the singing of Susan Boyle. Many people actually feel good when they hear her sing. Please stop this bitter, judgemental rant you are imposing on others. It brings no dignity to you or anyone else.
