The Weirdest, Most Awesome Japanese Commercial Ever

Oh, wow. Just wow! I’ve seen a lot of pretty crazy Japanese television commercials, but this one pretty much takes the cake. For decades, the greatest advertising minds from all over the world have been struggling to come up with a fun, effective and profitable angle for which to market bananas. It’s been a tough nut to crack.

Sure, bananas are cheap and delicious, but how does a company like Dole instill brand loyalty for a product that is pretty much exactly the same regardless of the little cute sticker that’s stamped on the side?

This commercial. This commercial is how you get me (and everyone else) to want to only eat Dole bananas ever again. Del Monte, you can suck it. Chiquita, go fuck yourself. Because you ain’t got nothing on this ingenious Japanese marketing campaign.
