New Moon Takes Down The Dark Knight

Robert-Pattinson-1Oh, it’s happened. As soon as “The Dark Knight” set the record for overnight box office last year over “Revenge Of The Sith,” you knew it would be displaced by something equally as terrible. So now “The Dark Knight” is sandwiched between the Star Wars prequels and “Twilight” for the biggest opening day in history. What you are hearing is the sound of bad taste.

So the news to Hollywood is, that despite the assertions of movie studio execs, women do go to movies. Unfortunately, with the top grossing female-oriented films of the last few years being “Sex in the City” and “Twilight,” you can make an assumption as to what kind of women go to the movies. Lonely, horny ones.

Summit Entertainment is reporting that the Friday grosses of “Twilight” were around 72 million dollars, crushing the 67 million total that the Dark Knight had. To be fair, I would’ve much rather been at the Dark Knight midnight screening. The former’s air was probably so moist with twat mist, I could’ve come in with fans and made rain. Worldwide, “Twilight” is raking in the money, and is looking at a 125 million dollar opening weekend.

Alright, between “Twilight” and “Transformers II,” nobody can ever use the #1 movie in America tagline in trailers anymore. It’s swell if you have the #1 movie in America, but to be honest, we’re a bunch of idiots. “Twilight” has the biggest single day opening and “Two And A Half Men” gets 18 million viewers. We’re kind of at a nadir.

I was one of those women who went to the Twilight sequel and I am neither lonely or horny and the women with me are not either. I do not think you would appreciate being called by these judgemental terms, perhaps they fit you better which is why you would assume such tripe. Have you read the books, seen either movie? If you have done either of these things, you must have missed the hope and the encouragement one gets from seeing that a beautiful love relationship can exist between 2 people who each feel inadequate in their world. We all need this kind of hope that our true potential can be seen and recognized by another being, that we can be loved for what we are and helped to grow beyond what we even dream we are capable of. I am far from being a teeny bopper and the women I attended with were a range of ages and circumstances in life. I am the oldest of the group and the biggest fan. Don't knock our choices, or label us with insulting terms. I wonder what you consider good taste in films. Please think before you comment on women's taste, state of mind, and condition in life. True Twilight Fan

The Twilight franchise is PURE DRECK. Any attempt to defend it should be laughed off. The franchise is a reflection on the fact that women, just like men (w/ respect to Transformers), are attracted to and will pay money to watch SHIT on the movie screen. That's right, ladies, you're not just as bad as we are - you are EVEN WORSE.

jeez, I'm not even a fan, and the blatant dick wilted fear in this post makes me want to vomit. Can you say misogyny? What, are you worried the chick you're doing is thinking about Edward the vampire when her eyes are closed? (while you think about Megan Fox, presumably?) Sad.

"a beautiful love relationship can exist between 2 people" I think you missed the part where one of the "people" is an undead pedophile.
