The parents of the infamous “Balloon Boy” are pleading guilty to the Larimer County Court in Colorado for creating one of the biggest hoaxes ever. The wife, Mayumi Heene, is only pleading to a misdemeanor charge for, “falsely reporting to authorities.” Richard Heene, on the other hand, is looking at a felony and an “attempting to influence a public servant” charge.

The two will probably not be looking at any jail time since the prosecutor is going for probation, but there is still a chance. In fact, Mayumi would’ve been deported if she didn’t cop a plea deal. The fact that she’s a citizen of Japan, and committed what could be a felony, makes her subject to automatic deportation.

These are probably the worst parents ever. Subjecting their son to have people call him “Balloon Boy” for the rest of his life. I’m pretty sure he’ll emancipate himself at 18.

while I wouldn’t really want to support the parent’s getting jail time, or the mom’s deportation — breaking up families is rarely a good idea — i kinda do think they deserve it. and no, not just because they pulled a fast one on the entire nation, but moreover, because they are, simply put, really bad parents. CPS takes away children for stunts half as bad as this.
