Rupert-Murdoch-1

If anyone has seen ads for the new movie Cirque Du Freak, you might’ve made the same mistake I did. You might’ve looked at the poster, what with its depictions of vampires — the monster of choice these days — and gone, “HOLY SHIZ. THAT LOOKS LIKE RUPERT MURDOCH!”

Well, Rupert Murdoch might not be a vampire, but more and more, he’s revealing himself to be a crotchety old man. Specifically, in regards to the Internet. After buying MySpace for something like 580 million dollars, Rupert is now using his resources to bash Google. You know, cause when you want to get things done on the Internet, you bash the most successful search engine with the most innocuous name. During an interview with Sky News Australia, Murdoch announced plans for his holdings, which include the Sun, the Times, and the Wall Street Journal, to be blocked entirely by the search engine. He also has accused the site of kleptomania, and acting as a parasite. Google is quaking in their oogly boots.

It’s kinda hilarious watching this guy, who doesn’t really have a care in the world, get angry at a search engine whose entire interface seems like it was designed by a doting mother. Rupert, you do know the Internet isn’t alive, right? Right?
