We all love kitties. Oh, humorous, expressive, ridiculous kitties. We make montages to you on YouTube, enjoy your moments of awkwardness, and label your photos in humorous ways to entertain everyone on the internets. We will will never stop loving you, kitties…wait what? YOU CAN GET SWINE FLU?! NOOOOOO!
In what seems to be the strangest animal mash-up since Charlotte’s Web, a 13-year-old Iowa cat has caught the swine flu. The swine flu. What were the owners doing, coughing on it? It’s the first case of the swine flu being transferred to an adorable feline. The disease was found in two ferrets, but they promptly died, despite being wily ferrets. Flu-like symptoms were found in two of the people who shared residence with the cat. According to the AP:
The indoor cat was lethargic, had a loss of appetite and appeared to have trouble breathing after it became infected, Sponseller said. Its owners declined to comment.
Well, what would you say if you owned a cat that was infected with the swine flu? Wouldn’t you just dress him in a little hat and caption his photos with something like…
Oh, no, i can has the swines flu?! No? Just me? Okay, then.
