More dirt will be leaking out about Sarah Palin in the coming months. Delicious, dirty dirt. And here is a sampling. Sarah Palin was so out-of-control behind the scenes in the final stages of McCain’s campaign, he had to turn the lights out on her to make sure she didn’t talk.
Authors Scott Conroy and Shushannah Walshe, who followed the campaign and authored “Sarah From Alaska”, gave a hilarious story of the dynamic between the two rogues on the CBS Early Show. Apparently, Palin was incensed that she couldn’t give a concession speech. You know, cause that’s what people who lose do, not people who tag on to the people who lose. Although it’s happened in the past, it just looks weird. So a speech was written for Palin, but the idea was shot down by McCain’s people. As popular knowledge goes, Palin and McCain were at each other’s throats toward the end of the campaign, with Palin blaming people for mismanaging her. So when she came out on the stage with her family, after McCain’s speech, they cut the electricity to ensure that she couldn’t further embarrass him. According to the book:
“When she found out what was happening, an incensed Carla Eudy called [Palin advisor Jason] Recher to express her displeasure. ‘You never had control of her,’ she said, according to Recher. ‘Get control of her! Get her ass off stage!’”
Other awesome revelations? Palin revealed that she was going to be Vice President to her children with a senior staffer, instead of telling them in person. Her concession speech included the lines, “If Obama governs America with the skill and grace we have often seen in him, and the greatness of which he is capable, we’re gonna be just fine. It would be a happier night if elections were a test of valor and merit alone.”
Personally? I’m hoping she runs in 2012.
