a year later and its official: the movie was a complete bomb. it wasnt even critically acclaimed, just tossed away as being a complete of shit. rightfully so.

Wouldn’t this have been more relevant in early September when there was actually a chance that “Beer In Hell” could have been a hit?

At this point the movie has already flopped at the box office and is out of most theaters. Max himself completely failed to become the blip on the radar of mainstream media that he needed to be for this article to be of any use.

Correction: the film opened on September 27th in a small number of theaters, with plans to expand nationwide shortly thereafter. The film is now in 36 theaters (down 96 from a week ago), grossing a little over $14,000 over the weekend for a total of about 1.4 million over the course of a month. Tucker Max’s words:

“Like I explained on Monday, our distribution strategy is a typical indie one: 125 screens the first weekend, 300 or so the second, then wide expansion into about 2000 by the third weekend, which will cover the whole country.”

It peaked at–I believe–around 260 theaters. It finished at #69 (lol) this past weekend, behind the films “Wake Up Sid”, “(Untitled)”, and “Passport to Love.”
