Dana White: love him or loathe him, you have to admit he’s a self-made man. He is arguably the godfather of MMA, bringing it to prominence from its humble beginnings when nobody could have believed it would ever be taken seriously as an actual sport to the juggernaut that the Ultimate Fighting Championship has become.
Along the way, White’s made some enemies among fighters and fans alike, but he’s also shown a willingness to put that aside and make up. After all, as much as the UFC is White’s baby, it’s also a moneymaking concern, and that has to trump personal enmities.
Having said that, White has returned to putting himself out there with the return of his video blog, which has been absent for a while. Though there’s nothing earth-shattering in this first one, showing White on his way to the first MMA fight of a cousin of his, he does promise more to come, with interviews of UFC fighters included. There’s also a brief cameo by Captain America himself, Randy Couture, and it’s nice to see White being friendly with fans as he hands out tickets for UFC 104 which goes live this Saturday.
