For years Saturday Night Live has been a fish out of water, slowly trying to flip itself unsuccessfully back into an ocean of funny. But their idea of doing it is by blatantly star-f*cking people who would’ve been eviscerated in previous seasons.
Now, they’ve got a bankroll to do it on. Bud Light is launching a new wheat beer, and when they think of wheat beer, apparently, they think of mind-numbingly bad sketches. So they’ve bought up all the ad space on Saturday Night Live this weekend. This marks the first time that a single advertiser has sponsored the show in its entirety in its 35-year history.
Why now, Anheuser-Busch? Are you a really big fan of their Digital Shorts or cats that fire lasers? Or are you just lazy, and hoping, miraculously, the audience that watches SNL is the exact same that’d be really excited by wheat beer? That sounds about right. In other news, 30 Rock barely has a 3.0 rating share. NBC is the world’s worst network right now. In fact, they’re about to be bought by a cable company. That’s how rough it is.
In other news, the sketches would be made 10x as hilarious if midway through, they just did product placements for Wheat Beer. Seriously. I don’t know what the point of the Gillie sketches are, just give her beer.

Wow Mark-you didn't even watch the show last night, did you? Best SNL of the year. How are you allowed to write such lousy articles without research?
