President Obama Receives 400% More Death Threats Than Any Other President

Barack-Obama-1Following the news that someone burned a swastika next to Obama’s name on a golf course in Massachusetts, cue the national anthem, then a record scratch. In a story that hasn’t been reported enough, apparently, President Obama receives 30 death threats a day.

A president receiving death threats, surprisingly, isn’t a very new thing. President Bush received nearly 3,000 a year. The difference between President Bush and President Obama, other than their work ethic, is that he receives on average 400% more death threats than any other President that’s taken office.

Come on people. A lot of hubbub is made about how disagreeing with the President’s policies isn’t an example of intrinsic racism, but seriously? Are we really that racist as a country? 30 a day? Jesus Christ, it makes me embarrassed and worried. It should make you the same. Most are kept under wraps for fear of copycat crimes. In addition, since Bush took over, the Secret Service division has increasingly been under-budget since it was merged with Homeland Security. Meaning, it’s been stretched out. Meaning, that’s bad, since there are apparently way more crazies than were originally anticipated.

Here’s an idea, don’t threaten to kill the President. Seriously. Seriously. We’re better than this.

  1. 400% of the statistics in this article sound made up says:

Link? Cite? Or is this like the Nobel Peace Prize where you’re counting death threats he hasn’t gotten yet?

Oh, and given that Obama has accomplished so little that even SNL notices, is the ‘work ethic’ crack meant to be ironic?

  2. Racist? Are you really that ignorant as to thinking the death threats are derived only from racism? Did you know Obama is half white? Look outside the box wizard, its not his color that’s the issue, it’s the direction he’s trying to take our country in. Figure it out.

  3. Yeah, there are sources. And yeah, it’s racism. Genius.

Oh, right, he’s accomplished so little. GOD, OBAMA, U SHULD FIX EVERYFIN AT 1NCE, WAT R U STUPID NUTHIN IS HAPPEN. What the fuck did Bush do for eight years, other than clear brush?

And SNL is nothing but a barometer for bad comedy.

  4. And if you’re actually saying death threats are merited based off of political decisions, you shouldn’t be near anything electronic.

  5. “And yeah, it’s racism. Genius.”

So all the Bush death threats must have been racism also? I didn’t realize that.

  6. Nice straw-man. Nice try.

  7. “In a story that hasn’t been reported enough, apparently, President Obama receives 30 death threats a day.”

Apparently? Apparently? Come on now. Give some links or citations to some of these stats presented.

“In addition, since Bush took over, the Secret Service division has increasingly been under-budget since it was merged with Homeland Security. Meaning, it’s been stretched out. Meaning, that’s bad, since there are apparently way more crazies than were originally anticipated.”

This is some fine reporting. Again, any citations for this remark? I did a quick search for their budget and news of their budget, nothing related to them being underbudgeted came up (not to say they are not, but nothing found in a 2 minute search).

  8. Did not see your link prior to the previous post. Will check it out.

  9. I’m getting fairly tired of everyone defending Obama. Don’t get me wrong, the death threats are an issue. Whether or not you agree with the policies of a president doesn’t give you the right to take his life.

What I’m sick of is the constant comparison to Bush. So many people complained about Bush on a daily basis. And now that there is a democrat in office, it’s just not kosher to complain about a president anymore.

“What the fuck did Bush do for eight years, other than clear brush?”

Who cares about what Bush did/didn’t while he was in office. He’s not there anymore. Making a throwback to a president that you don’t like doesn’t make your argument for Obama being the next messiah.

  10. Should have been a “do” in the second to last sentence. You know where. My apologies.

  11. Second correction. The third to last sentence. I can’t read/write today.

  12. you sir Jacob are a editing failure. you lose, good day sir.

  13. I know. My apologies.
