And the good news is, it’s based off the movie Dawn of the Dead. And will be way cooler.
Dead Before Dawn seems to be, by all accounts, the greatest Left 4 Dead add-on in history. Five new maps in a gigantic mall, a new character to control, and missions that are more off the wall than in the original.
Left for Dead is already a great game, but the nice people at Valve decided to pay homage to the zombie apocalypses that have come before. The premise? The Crossroads mall is preparing to celebrate their one-millionth customer, when all of the chaos of malls and confetti attract every zombie in the city. You know, like celebrations do. (Stop having parties.) Where in the original Left For Dead, you’d activate radios, signal helicopters, and flail as you’re bitten all over, the scenarios in the mod are not as clear cut. For every task there are three different options. Instead of one. You hear that? You have options. Which are a nice thing to have in a zombie apocalypse.
Also, you can throw toilets through windows. I’m pretty much sold. Even though I’ll be probably doing that in real life on Halloween, instead of in a virtual mall.
It’s amazing to see what Valve can make just based off of one game engine.
