ESPN Magazine has decided to switch it up this month by mounting a direct challenge to Sports Illustrated‘s popular Swimsuit Edition with what they are calling their “Body Issue.” Out on newsstands this Friday (October 9), the first annual Body Issue will feature a number of popular and successful, athletes posing, tastefully, completely in the nude. The idea is to demonstrate to readers what the body of a top athlete looks like (versus SI‘s Swimsuit Edition which lets us know what hot models in bikinis or paint look like). Rumored to be in the lineup? Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings Running Back), Serena Williams (tennis), Gina Carano (MMA), Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic), Clair Bevilacqua (Australian Surfer), Carl Edwards (NASCAR), Lolo Jones (Olympic Runner) and Sarah Reinersten (Amputee Ironman Triathlete).
As of now, sources are pointing toward Serena Williams to make the cover, but others have reported either Sarah Reinersten or Gina Carano as well. Leaked magazine covers are below.
Which cover do you think looks the best?
