Neko Case once had a band called, “Neko Case and Her Boyfriends”. That’s really the only excuse we need to be writing anything about her. Thankfully we have plenty more.
Also attributed to her is the quote, “And if Celine Dion is supposedly the great singer that she says she is why is there auto tune on every fucking word in her songs? Can’t you just hit it, Celine? Do you have another baby book to shoot? You gotta paint your baby to look like a pot of peas? What are you doing that you can’t be singing in the studio? It’s your fucking job! Really, Neko Case is the kind of person you could drink with all day, and not get bored of her talking. Because she’s not Celine Dion. And she loves babies.
Also attributed to her is about 15 years of phenomenal music, from working solo, to the New Pornographers, to solo again. She helped launch Andrew Bird’s career, if you’re into that hippy dippy shiz. She is absolutely hilarious live, and never uses autotune. Also, she hates Top 40 radio. Not because of the people singing, but because of the producers. And according to Wikipedia, she’s going to be featured in a series called Cheyenne Cinnamon and the Fantabulous Unicorn of Sugar Town Candy Fudge. I’m not making that up. But that’s probably not true, because Wikipedia is absolutely insane.

Céline is the most amazing person, nevermind the fact that she is also the greatest female singer of all time. Someone seems jealoussssss. If she wants a successful career, she should embrace and learn from the greats, be inspired, not be disrespectful. She won’t go far with an attitude like that.

Celine Dion is one of the greatest vocalists of our time. She has proven herself LIVE since she began her French career in the early 1980s. There are countless youtube links for anyone to see themselves. There is a reason she has sold over 200 million records — genuine, Olympic size talent. I don’t even know who Neko is??? And, now, I never plan to.

Of all divas, Neko decided to pick on the one who can really sing live!! You could have slammed Madonna and it would be justified but Celine Dion? You must be kidding… I hope you are not doing this to get some attention because this will turn against you. I for one sure won’t bother listening to your music!
Hmm… this reads like a load of crap to me. I follow all types of genres of music from heavy rock to r&b and in my life no artist has remained more consistent than Celine Dion. There, I said it. I mean, who the hell can sing that strongly after all these years? The only person I’ve seen come close to maintaining their talent is Babs, but Celine, she’s truly in the league of greatness. Don’t forget it’s the producers who decide to use the auto-tune and refine the songs whichever way they choose. I remember watching Celine give a press conference at the Junos and she said she does not produce any of her songs… she simply shows up and sings the lines. And that’s her job for crying out loud. She’s a SINGER, not a damn songwriter/producer/superwoman like the other divas claim to be. Maybe if they didn’t spend so much time focusing on the production part, they’d have more energy to sound a bit more decent. And Neko, I almost attempted to take a quick listen to your stuff before I read your slore comments about Celine. I’m sure there’s a career in Communications somewhere out there for you since you clearly won’t be moving forward in the industry with that type of attitude. Shall I call you Mrs. Kanye West now?

Neko Case has had a career for 15 years. She will continue to have a career. She plays many instruments, and writes her own music. Celine Dion does not. Neko Case doesn’t give a flying fuck if a bunch of Celine Dion fans don’t like her music, because most of them are more boring than paint drying.

I can’t believe this lady said this about Celine. I looked up Neko Case and, well, she’s not a good singer. She lacks power, tone, technique… She records lots of cover versions because her own songs suck. Oh! She has won one award: Female Artist of the Year at the Plug Independent Music Awards in 2006. Nothing else.
Celine is a singer. That’s it (even though she has composed some songs)! And the best effin singer of my generation I must add. 41 years old and her voice sounds better than ever.

I love (LOVE) Neko Case.
She’s phenomenal because not only is she talented, but she’s real. Her voice, lyrics and instrument playing are incredible and emotion-filled. At her shows it doesn’t feel like she’s trying to show off or deliver some show stopping belt-out of lyrics — it just happens naturally.
Finally….she’s obviously not afraid to speak her mind. And from the things I’ve heard thus far from her…I’d LOVE to hear more.
