This morning, my hometown of Chicago lost the Olympic bid to the beautiful city of Rio.
That’s not really too disappointing. It would’ve created a lot of jobs and given the city a lot of kickback, and it would’ve been great to fly back and see the competitions I’ve only been able to see on television. What’s disappointing is how consistently classless our national debate is.
When the news was announced, conservatives at the group Americans for Prosperity burst into applause. This is the same group that organized the Tea Party protests, so they probably would’ve done the same thing if someone said they’d discovered the local Waffle House was made of cheese or Billy Ray Cyrus was releasing a spoken word album. Michelle Malkin said it was huge victory for the taxpayers. I say Michelle Malkin is too dumb to be Anne Coulter, and that’s saying something.
They were celebrating the fact that Obama lost the Olympic bid. Never mind that this was a bid put into consideration way before Obama took office, he lost the bid. He did it. By this logic, I have won a World Series. Since I was in the Chicago, rooting for them when I won, them not losing is a direct result of my actions. Even though I will join the team years later.
Rush Limbaugh called it the worst day of Obama’s presidency. And it’s a testament to his “Mars sized ego”. So to compare, the worst day of Obama’s presidency is the day his state of favor lost a highly competitive contest to host an international sports competition. The worst day of Bush’s presidency is being debated on by historians. And he didn’t really have days. He had stretches of weeks.
People are calling Obama’s priorities out about creating jobs and prosperity by flying out to Copenhagen to appeal to the Olympic committee. These people are missing the point. The Olympics would’ve brought in a massive influx of cash, prosperity, and jobs. And Obama’s still taken less sick days than Bush.
So who are the losers? Not the people of Chicago. Just people who deal in uninformed, inexplicable malice.

Guys, you're running a cool site. But is it really necessary to put politics in here all the time? I'm bombarded with this shit all day and would love to find a site where the the left/right bs is left behind.

How can Republicans and Conservatives celebrate the USA lost the Olympics? Do they really hate America? I am beginning to think so.

"I say Michelle Malkin is too dumb to be Anne Coulter, and that’s saying something." Funny, that's what I thought about you after reading your ridiculous opinion.

You're right. I should've cited fallacious sources and been way more hyperbolic and vitriolic. I'll work on that, champ.
