Rampage Jackson Calls It Quits

rampage-mensfitnessQuinton “Rampage” Jackson has said that he’s done with fighting, at least for the present time. On his official website, he posted a long piece detailing his problems with the UFC and Dana White in particular. He claims that he was pushed into a lot of fights that he didn’t feel ready for, that he didn’t get the same acknowledgment that other fighters got, and that White had issues with his wanting to play B.A. Baracus in the upcoming film version of “The A-Team”.

So, he quit. He’s choosing to focus on whatever his burgeoning film career might be, though personally I can’t imagine that it’s going to provide enough roles for him to make a living at it. As much as I enjoy watching the guy fight, he’s not exactly the flashiest performer out there.

I don’t expect this to last for too long. I mean, come on, Tito Ortiz is now back in the UFC. That feud lasted for a long time before he and White reconciled, which is something White seems to do a lot. The fact of the matter is, people love Rampage, and they’ll always pay to watch him fight. Not to mention the fact that there have to be some contractual issues at stake, in addition to the fans’ slavering over the Jackson/Evans fight previously scheduled for December. So the real question is: how soon will Rampage return? Anyone want to start setting up bets?

  1. I agree, no way will Rampage have a film career. I say, at best, two, maybe three, roles total.
