What the … it’s time for new movies! Who knew? Opening this weekend are “The Informant!” and “Jennifer’s Body”. One of these features one of the hottest young actors on the scene right now, and the other one features Megan Fox. I’m trying not to get sucked into liking Megan Fox. She reminds me a little too much of the young Angelina Jolie, and look how she turned out.

Anyway, first up we’ve got “The Informant!” by Steven Soderburgh. Now, I was kinda so-so on Matt Damon until two things happened: 1) I saw “The Bourne Identity” and 2) I saw him host Saturday Night Live. Those two things together have turned him into one of my favorite actors ever. So, count me intrigued in this movie, which is apparently based on the true story of a high-ranking whistleblower with delusions of grandeur. This is one of those movies that absolutely relies on the performances of its principals, as the humor is dry enough to use as a firelighter. Don’t take my word for it, check out the trailer below:

Next up, “Jennifer’s Body”, starring Megan Fox. This is the second script from Diablo Cody, who gave the world “Juno”, and fortunately, this looks to be a lot different. For some reason, there’s a demon loose at the local high school, and she’s out to eat the male population. Only one girl knows the truth — but she’s one of the unpopular ones who no one will believe. It’s up to her and her similarly-unpopular male friend to make things right; but will he fall victim to the monstrous Jennifer too?

Wow, that was just about the most straightforward summary I’ve ever written for this feature. I better quit while I’m ahead. Check out the red band trailer below:
