Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West was arrested today on a weapons possession charge after police found three handguns on him. He was pulled over on his three wheel motorcycle after cutting of a police officer in a Washington DC suburb.
After being released today on personal recognizance, West 26 was also charged with speeding. Unfortunately, athletes and weapons charges is nothing new and continues to be a problem for young gifted players. West, who was a key player in the Cavs playoff run last year and finals run the year before, will likely be suspended a handful of games for next season.
According to police reports West was carrying a Beretta 9mm in his waistband, a Ruger .357 strapped to his leg and a shotgun in a guitar case slung over his back. Looks like he was ready to go to war.
