Top Five Swayze Moments

By Mark Lorenz on September 15th, 2009

I’m at a loss right now. Patrick Swayze, our nation’s most beloved B-movie actor, has unfortunately succumbed to pancreatic cancer. Swayze reportedly didn’t go in for treatment until his eyes started to turn jaundiced, so there’s a lesson to be learned here. Go see doctors. There’s no reason not to.

Fortunately, Swayze has left a multitude of brilliant moments on-screen, and lived a charmed existence. Moments that we can re-live forever and ever. Here are the top five.

Roadhouse

That Dude From Roadhouse – Exisiting with the World’s Greatest Mullet

Swayze’s character Dalton would clean up bars when bars go too rough. If that doesn’t get your nipples hard, you are beyond hope. There’s always barber college. And pain don’t hurt.

Saturday Night Live

Chippendale’s Audition

What’s sad is that now, this video will be looked at as a testament to two fallen icons.

Ghost

Sam – The Pottery Scene

I have a pottery wheel. And am now breaking it out, hoping I’ll be haunted by Sam, and not Willie.

Point Break

Bodhi – The Entire Goddamn Movie

If you haven’t seen Point Break, you’re denying yourself the greatest homage and precursor to Jerry Bruckheimer’s ridiculous shlockfests. Swayze will take you to the edge.

Dirty Dancing

Johnny Castle – Removing Baby from Aforementioned Corner

They did a survey, where this movie was voted Star Wars for woman. And this is why. You had the time of your life.
