By the very gods themselves, Courtney Love is crazier than diapers on a praying mantis. To prove this, simply take a look at her Twitterstream. 99% of what she says there is pure brilliance. The target of her latest diatribe is Activision, publishers of the popular rhythm game series Guitar Hero.
Apparently, Love is inflamed by her late husband Kurt Cobain’s appearance in the latest iteration of the franchise. It’s difficult to tell precisely from her weapons-grade ranting, but she’s either upset that he’s in there at all, or that he’s being used to sing songs like Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name” and Bush’s “I Don’t Wanna Come Back Down From This Cloud”. Check out the video below:
Now, whatever your personal feelings toward Kurt, Courtney, or Activision, you have to admit that seeing the former frontman of Nirvana belting out the lyrics to “Sweating Bullets” is more than a trifle fubar. It’s actually sort of nauseating. But one would assume that Love, being Cobain’s widow, should have full control over the rights to his likeness. Judging by the quality of her spewing, one of two things is going on here:
Either she somehow lost control of these rights during her possibly ongoing drug-induced fugue state, or she never had them to begin with. I’m not sure which one is better, to be honest, but at least we get the joy of reading her barely-comprehensible vitriol and holy-crap-she’s-nuts accusations of rape. This can’t possibly end well … which is awesome.
