Known as the last major holiday of the summer season, Labor Day Weekend is meant to give all those workaholics a break from the norm and cash in on some quality R&R. As for the Manolith team, we decided to hit up the Sunshine state en route to our final destination: Miami.
Arriving Friday evening, we were put up in one of South Beach’s most luxurious resort hotels, Sagamore, The Art Hotel. With its minimalist theme and Art Deco designs, The Sagamore was easily in a class of its own.

When traveling to Miami one must remember that location is key. Being that The Sagamore is situated directly on the beach and only blocks away from the hottest nightclubs and restaurants, we were literally in the middle of it all.
Interested in a cool dining experience? South Beach has you covered. Whether it’s a quick sandwich on the beach or some gourmet Dungeness crab, you have plenty of options. Our number one pick was Ocean’s 10, a relatively affordable outdoor eatery with great music and even better wings.
Next up was the bar scene. Let’s just say like everything else, the choices were endless. From hotel bars to local favorites, South Beach provides you with enough alcohol to be dangerous. Our favorite establishment was the world renownedWet Willies on Miami Beach. Situated on 7th and Ocean, this legendary hotspot is known for its one of a kind slushy’s and popularly busy scene. We definitely recommend trying their most famous and accurately described “Call A Cab” drink.

Besides the beach, Miami is known to be one of America’s nightlife capitals. Offering an array of different nightclubs from the local favorites to exclusive and trendy, South Beach has every partygoer covered. The strict enforcement of security and nightclub personnel makes gaining access to the a club a impediment in itself, but the best way to avoid is getting their early (or paying a ridiculous amount). Depending on your preference and taste of music, there’s literally a club for everyone in South Beach. The locals picked LIV and Mansion as the two hottest spots at the moment
We may have battled a couple of rainy days and some outrageously high airfare fees, but overall the trip was well worth it. The city of Miami is unlike any other major city in the US and really feels like its own isalnd. Many of the locals suggest that if you are interested in getting the full Miami experience, you may want to travel here during a normal weekend. With the lower prices and more available attractions, visitors are able to get the exclusive South Florida treatment. .
