According to several reports, at least one student was shot earlier today at Skyline College, a community college in San Bruno, California. Sources report the shooting occurred around 1:30 PM at Lot 7, a parking lot near the school’s Science building. The student was shot twice, once in the lower back and once in the butt, before the suspects took off. Witnesses at the scene report four young men involved, one of which held the handgun. All four, however, quickly fled the scene in what has been described as either a black or purple car, between 1:35 and 1:40 p.m. The student is currently “breathing and conscious” and is being treated at San Francisco General Hospital.
As to the remaining students, the school is now on lockdown and school officials have advised students through an emergency text message to “take shelter.” The full message is as follows: “We have had a shooting on campus and are now in lockdown. Please shelter in place, away from windows, with doors shut until further notice. We are sending an emergency text message to all students.”
Police are now systematically searching the school’s campus, including classrooms, parking lots, and cars in pursuit of the four suspects.
