Steve Valdez was born without arms and thus uses prosthetic devices to compensate. Unfortunately, that didn’t stop Bank of America from demanding a fingerprint after he tried to cash his wife’s check. BOA contends that you must show your fingerprint when trying to cash a check from another account. Seeing as how this guy has no arms, THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE!
Honestly, Bank Of America needs to ease up on their policies. I may be biased from all the unwarranted overdraft fees I’ve been charged since banking with them, but seriously this is ridiculous.
Valdez explained to the clerk that the ADA (American with Disabilities Act) protects his rights to bypass policies such as these. The address on Valdez’s license also matched the one on the check, making him even more confused as to why they couldn’t cash it.
The lesson that needs to be learned here is simply this: be a human being before being a clerk. Understand that it is impossible for a man without arms to give his fingerprint.

That'd be a nice lesson for all bankers (investment bankers especially!): be a human before a giant tool-bag.
