Little Friend’s Farm in South Wales was the site of what has to be a world record for guinea pig sexual stamina. “Sooty” the guinea escaped from his cage one night and found his way into a neighboring cage that held 24 female guineas. Owner Carol Feehan had this to say:
“We knew that Sooty had gone missing and we looked for him everywhere but never thought of checking the pen where we keep the females. We did a head count and found 25 guinea pigs — Sooty was fast asleep in the corner. He was absolutely shattered — we put him back in his cage and he slept for two days.”
10 weeks later, Sooty was the presumably proud father of 42 baby guinea pigs. There is no word as yet on whether or not the male members of Little Friend’s Farm have adopted Sooty’s diet to enhance their own virility. Bravo, Sooty — we here at Manolith salute you. We’ll never be able to watch Jack Bauer in action again without thinking of you. Here’s hoping the female guinea pig contingent is renamed “Sooty’s Baby Mamas”.
