50 Vintage Playboy Covers

By The Manolith Team on August 26th, 2009

Playboy is an American institution that every man of every race, color and religion can enjoy. Each issue of the magazine is full of interesting articles, helpful man-hints and pictures of beautiful, naked women. While often lumped in with other, racier publications, Playboy has always striven for a more classy, sophisticated representation of the female anatomy. The magazine’s many famous covers are a testament to this, and tend to be rather mild, in comparison. The following are some of our favorite Playboy covers from the 1960s through the 1980s, that we have complied for your reading satisfaction:

The early '70s covers are all great, but MAN, those '60s covers? Outstanding. I'm not sure if they got a different cover designer in 74 or something, but you can definitely see the difference. Not in a good way either, imo.

These covers are such iconic symbols of the times....great stuff! I personally only owned one of them...the Madonna issue. And yes, I still have it. Great post.

Thank you for another fantastic article. Where else could anyone get that kind of info in such an ideal way of writing? I've a presentation next week, and I am on the look for such information.
