“Eddie Murphy Dead” Rumor Untrue

Fake death rumors are becoming more and more popular this year and the latest one that claims Eddie Murphy died in a “special effects mishap” is totally untrue. It’s been an unfortunate year for celebrities with high profile statuses, from Michael Jackson to Farrah Fawcett, one might actually believe any celebrity death rumor.
The fact that websites publish stories knowing they are completely false is almost like spreading an “article virus” through the web. Editors quickly publish these rumors as true without doing any research and who merely want to break the story first.
One way I try to analyze possible rumors or untruths is by looking for any credible news agencies to verify the story (New York Times, Washington Post, etc.).
