Mugshot Monday: 50 Cent

50 Cent has made a career out of being progressively less and less himself. When he led off with the totally f**king awesome song “How To Rob”, he was dangerous, cool, and didn’t give a hoot nor holler (can you tell I’m a white guy writing about a rapper yet?) about making America happy. Then Dr Dre happened, and like most things that Dr Dre touches, it turned white-hot brilliant for a few months and then faded into marketing hell. His “In Da Club” period was amazing, but can anyone remember anything off of the last two albums? No. Exactly. He’s too busy carousing with Martha Stewart (GOOGLE IT! IT EXISTS) to do any more good music. Sad times, folks.
