As many a young boy know, nothing is funnier than a loud, juicy and completely unexpected fart. The grosser the sound, the louder the laughs. It’s like chemistry 101. Which leads us to the big news story of the day: the incredibly talented, successful and – arguably – world’s best golfer, Tiger Woods, ripped a fat one yesterday at the Buick Open, camera’s rolling and all. And boy, was it great.
To better set up the scene, I’m going to go through a quick fart play by play. To start, Tiger Woods is walking down the fairway on the 18th hole with his caddy Steve Williams – about to win the event, making it his 69th (as if this post wasn’t juvenile enough) PGA win – when Woods suddenly stops and begins a series of odd-looking stretches. Moments later, he stands up straight, and lets it rip. Big time. This camera-catching fart (i.e. the fart heard around the world) was then followed by Woods and Williams laughing and giggling like little boys – naturally – while the announcers try and play it safe, not saying a word, and quickly switching to a different shot.
And that was it.
No one said a thing, and the moment of flatulent hilarity almost went without mention. But of course, there never was a chance of that. Come on. We’re talking about guys and sports and farts. Of course we’re going to talk about it, give play by plays and laugh at funny adjectives for farts like “greasy” and “squirts”. It’s funny!

UPDATE: All right, it looks like the PGA is none too happy about this video and has been taking it down left and right. So until I find a video that works – and trust me, I’ll be looking – here’s ANOTHER Tiger Woods fart video. This time it’s 2006. Fast-forward to the 29 second mark to hear the rip, then watch as the cameras switch back to Woods, once again, trying to keep his composure as he laughs and laughs. What a great guy. Wow. You mean you can copyright a fart??? I’ll have to start recording mine and submitting them for copyrights or maybe even a patent or two… That way if a video ends up on the web, I can claim copyright violation to have it removed. Even more amazing is that this is considered newsworthy. We all fart. Even the Queen of England farts, though I’m sure she does it with dignity, grace, and a stiff upper lip… who really cares???
