Chickolith: Meghan McCain

John McCain’s daughter is kind of a big deal. The 24-year-old blogger is a blonde-haired, blue-eyed version of the classically brown-eyed, brunette blogger. And she’s (on paper at least) a Republican. In short, she’s breaking down stereotypes left, right, and center.

Meghan is the daughter of 2008 Presidential Candidate John McCain, the increasingly old Arizona senator who bears a passing resemblance to a certain end-of-level boss in the popular video game series Super Mario Bros. This has to be hard for her, not only because her dad is such a high profile Republican, but that she also must resist on a daily basis the urge to jump up and down on her Father’s head to progress further in life. Thankfully for her (or un-thankfully for everyone else) this hasn’t happened yet.

She’s young, smart, and can write, which is three out of the top five things on my “Would I Date Her?” checklist. And hopefully yours too, because not everyone wants or needs to keep dating Bennigans waitresses. I know that there must be a fair few of you enjoying dating your lovely Bennigans potato-skins slingers, but lets think about the long run. Her father is wealthy, she’s really smart, is really hot and she can write very, very well, if a little reactionary. In short, she’s like the grown up version of Clarissa Explains It All except that she’s explaining not “all” but rather, “what goes on behind closed doors in the Republican party”.

Meghan is doing such a good job of blogging, in fact, that her Republican overlords are getting increasingly pissed off that she’s still going at it: her thoughts on Obama were that of the, “He’s a better candidate than my Father, to be honest,” and her thoughts on the Satanic Underling Anne Coulter were that of, “You’re embarrassing the entire Republican party by being such an evil and terrible person.” Which is true. Anne Coulter is an evil and terrible person. She even called Republican figurehead Joe The Plumber “a dumbass”, which again, is totally true.

We salute her for her free thinking. It’s not often you actually hear about using blogging as a means to speak the truth about the Republican party. Honestly, if more people on that side of the fence actually listened to her, we wouldn’t think of Republicans as lizard-brained myopic weirdos. Seriously, Republic-os, take a lesson from her.
