The Erin Andrews Peephole video is still the hottest topic on the web, but be careful, watching it is illegal. According to a report by CBS’s The Early Show’s legal analyst Lisa Bloom, partaking in this voyeuristic viewing, “Is like buying or selling stolen property…If you know you are buying something that was stolen…you could be liable criminally and civilly.”
The Peephole video which has been made available courtesy of thousands of bit torrent clients and even Google will not be going away anytime soon. It is unclear how authorities will be able to catch would-be criminals, but I doubt police are invading dorm rooms and backroom comic book shops to catch the viewers.
As unfortunate as Erin Andrews may feel to have been taken advantage of, it would be extremely difficult to arrest every person who downloads and watches the video. IP address would help, but even that hasn’t shown to be all that accurate. It will be interesting to see if authorities actually try to make an example out of someone by arresting them for watching it. I say delete you computer’s history and cookies before it’s too late.

Yeah, no way are they actually going to do anything about this. I mean, they may press charges on sites that host the video, but individual users? Yeah right. Maybe - and a big maybe at that - they'll choose one or two people to make an example of, much like the RIAA with filesharing, but even then your chance of getting caught or paying a fine? 0.00000000543% Approximately.
