Tiger Woods, inarguably the best golfer in the world, will miss the British Open cut today after shooting an uncharacteristically high 74. In case you are unfamiliar with what missing the cut is, this basically means Tiger did so bad in the first two rounds of the tournament that he won’t be able to make it to the third and fourth.
This will mark only the second time in his career that he missed the cut in a major tournament championship . Finishing at 5 over for the first two rounds, Tiger will be unable to capture his 15th Major victory.
Tiger, who rarely ever loses in any tournament period, shouldn’t let this go to his head. He’s been struggling a bit since his return from knee surgery, but I’m expecting a full recovery in no time. It will be like when Michael Jordan came back to basketball the first time.
