US weekly just released exclusive footage of Michael Jackson’s hair catching on fire during the shoot of his 1984 Pepsi commercial. After watching the footage, you can see how much damage was caused to his scalp and the seriousness of the burns.
I’m unsure why it took so long for this footage to be released, but I can tell you that US weekly paid a pretty penny for the exclusive rights. Some believe that after this traumatic incident, Jackson began more plastic surgery to correct his near fatal accident.
It amazed me to see him still perform as his hair was on fire. I’m sure it took him a second to feel the heat, but that seemed a lot longer than a it looked. Clearly the pyrotechnics went off too early as noted in the video and it’s unfortunate that no one noticed the burning of his hair earlier.

His face seemed fine... just a bald spot on his head.

Yeah, when you really look back on this man's life you realize that all the fame and fortune came at a price.... Really unfortunate.
