The world is stunned as news comes in that Sarah Palin, once the Republican Vice Presidential nominee, has announced that she is leaving her position as Governor of Alaska.
Speculation abounds as she further mentions that she will be trying to effect change as a private citizen. “Hey, you want me to make a positive difference and fight for all our children’s future from outside the governor’s office?” she reportedly asked her kids. Since nobody knows what exactly she meant by that, I’m going to go ahead and say “Talk show“.
Seriously, can’t you just see it? Spinning her folky wisdom to a crowd of soccer moms, having her kids on as guests, discussing politics with whomever stupid or masochistic enough to make themselves available … it’s mid-day magic! Sponsored by Huggies and the NRA!
But I’m probably being needlessly negative. I’m sure her heart’s in the right place when she says she wants to do things for America. It’s just that her heart has never been the problem organ. That’s why a talk show is the perfect vehicle for her. Where else is she going to get the approbation she feels she so richly deserves? I’m guessing Fox would pick her up in a heartbeat.
