Official Press Release: Sarah Palin Resignation
It’s officially confirmed by the press release from the Alaskan Governor’s office, Sarah Palin is getting out early. The press release indicates that Palin will transfer power to Lt. Governor Sean Parnell on July 26th. According to the press release and Palin’s statement, the decision to resign is based on the decision not to run for re-election. Coming to the decision not to run for re-election, Palin indicated that she does not want to serve out the remainder of the term as a lame duck governor. She indicated that she looks forward to continuing to help others and then listed a number of “national ticket” agendas. Her decisions continue to fuel speculation that she will seek a bid for the presidency in 2012. The announcemen was followed on the press release with a list of Palin’s accomplishments while serving as Alaska’s youngest governor.
