There are a ton of different companies these days that are providing GPS products and services. With an industry that is growing so quickly, it is sometimes hard for the average person to figure out which service providers are best for them. This is the reason that we have done all of the research for you and compiled a little bit of information about some of the pros and cons associated with some of the most popular service providers for GPS.

The main decision that you will faced with is deciding which features and interfaces of which products you like best. At the end of the day it is mostly a matter of what GPS makers are going to be able to provide you with the information you need quickly. Checking out multiple sites can be dually fruitful, for quality research as well as keeping an eye out for any sales!

For the most part, most of the major GPS providers all offer the same services in terms of basic navigation and mapping systems.

However, many companies specialize in providing services to particular industries that work out of certain areas. For example, some units are specifically designed for two wheeled vehicles while some are specialized for marine GPS.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the most popular companies, which hopefully will lead you to which provider is best for you.

Garmin GPS
Garmin GPS is one of the most popular GPS providers and offers a ton of great advantages. The main reason they have been able to become so popular among consumers is the fact that their customer service has gained a reputation for being top notch. Another reason is the fact that they offer so many great products. This allows for you to find the perfect unit that is specialized to the services that you are in need of. The only disadvantage to these products is the fact that the battery life has come into question in the past and variable battery life can leave you unable to access the information you need.

Magellan GPS
The main reason that Magellan has also become a top GPS provider is the fact that their products and services are known for accuracy and most importantly their ease of use. This has made them extremely popular among first time users. The only downside is that their products and services tend to be on the high end range in terms of price.

TomTom GPS
These products are popular because of the fact that they provide extremely innovative solutions for handheld devices as well as units for motorcycles and scooters. The only disadvantage is that their product line is quite limited.

Lowrance GPS
These products are known for being highly accurate and reliable as well as providing innovative technology and features that provide the best possible scenario for fisherman and hunters. The downside is that sometimes these products neglect consumers outside of the outdoor sports industry and these units can also be quite expensive.
