The iPhone 3GS may just be the “hottest” phone ever. Literally. Last week, Nowherelse.com posted pictures of an iPhone that looked to have overheated; turning the once white iPhone pink. I just purchased the iPhone 3GS in white and have noticed it gets does get hot after recording video, but have noticed no discoloration.

Many insiders believe that this is an isolated incident and that Apple would not have to recall any of the phones. The fact that this is the only case out of more than 1 million iPhone 3GS’s sold, further proves the point of no recall. However, I’m sure Apple will look into this matter more closely and offer suggestions in how to avoid overheating.

In the meantime, I’d suggest monitoring your iPhone and make sure that if it does in fact overheat, record what function you were performing (recording video, playing games etc…). I would then take it to your local Apple store and inform them of your problem.
