Fred Travalena’s Last Act

By Michael Arcand on June 29th, 2009

fred_travalenaIn keeping with this week’s barrage of bad news deaths, here’s another one.  Known as “The Man of a Thousand Faces,” Fred Travalena has died from his battle with cancer.  Travalena was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma back in 2002 and prostate cancer a year later.  Although the cancer did go into remission for a brief period it returned last year. He underwent surgery, radiation and chemotherapy treatments in his fight against cancer. Travalena passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009, at his home in Encino, California, surrounded by his family. Public memorial services will be announced later in the week.

Travalena was well known for his impersonations of other celebrities as you can see from the clip from “The Late Show with David Letterman” at the link below. Fred is survived by his wife Lois, two sons, one daughter and a granddaughter. RIP Fred, may you continue to make good impressions wherever you go.
