10 Things I Hate About You TV Show

In yet another show of the lack of real creativity in Hollywood, the coming-of-age movie 10 Things I Hate About You is making its way from the silver screen to the flat screen. The new series is being picked up by ABC Family and premiers on Tuesday, July 7 at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central. You will probably recall the original movie which was a modern, loosely based adaptation of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of The Shrew” starring Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. Given the pop culture success of the film, I seriously doubt that there is any way the show will be able to hold a candle to it. Now that Ledger is deceased, it is even more unlikely that the followers of the film will patronize any adaptation at all. What do you think?
