Eddie Murphy is not dissing michael but rather paying homage to the greatest entertainer of all time! I think it is hilarious and MJ was still alive and well back then.

Thanks for the “F@#&ING RAT” comment about Michael’s pet rat. If you had ever met a pet rat you would understand how loving they are. I believe the Ben song was Michael’s way to tell the world of the love he found in such a small and misunderstood creature. Thankfully Michael was brave enough to tell the world of his love for his friend despite the overwhelming prejudice toward them.

Ned, it’s a serious oversight to neglect to include his performance at the Motown 25th anniversary celebration. In addition to the seriously contentious parting of Jackson from the label, his feud with his brothers, and his demands that he would perform under no circumstances unless allowed to play ‘Billie Jean’ (a demand Gordy agreed to finally), the moment was perhaps Jackson’s finest as a performer. He was at the peak of his powers. This was Jackson’s coming out party when he cast aside his youthful image and became ‘The King of Pop,’ unveiled of the moonwalk, and one of unloaded with one the most insane performances ever. It is one of the greatest moments in the history of 20th century music – much less Jackson’s own career. Otherwise this list is solid enough, to my eyes.
