Today is National Captain Picard Day. You all remember Jean-Luc Picard from his illustrious career as Captain of the Federation Starship USS Enterprise-D. The Star Trek star is one of the most recognizable characters on the legendary show and today we celebrate his life.
Held annually on June 16th, Captain Picard day highlights the fine attributes of this deeply moral, highly intuitive and intellectual man. Although born July 13, 2305, we still celebrate National Picard Day in June, 296 years ahead of schedule.
Patrick Stewart, the man behind the myth has absolutely nothing to do with this day. Yes he did play Captain Picard in the Star Trek series, but for some reason was never apart of the days celebrations. To tell you the truth I don’t even know what this day means. I guess I’ll just watch the new Star Trek movie in theaters and wear a “Happy National Picard Day” T-shirt in celebration of his holiness.
