340cipher1On April 29th of this year, a woman named Deborah Perez made a public announcement that she believes her father, Guy Ward Hendrickson, who died in 1983, was the infamous Zodiac Killer.

The “Zodiac Killer” was the self-imposed name of a man who was responsible for at least seven assaults on people in California, though his letters to the press claimed over thirty killings. The killer made a habit of sending cryptographic clues that were meant to taunt the police in their efforts to apprehend him.

San Francisco authorities will be questioning Perez this Wednesday regarding her claims, among which is an assertion that she assisted her father with the mailing of the letters sent to the press, though of course she claims not to have had any knowledge at the time that her father was involved in anything illegal. Lending credence to her possible connection is various pieces of forensic evidence received by the police, including DNA samples and handwriting samples.

It seems incredible that this woman could have lived with this connection for all these years and never known the truth, but for the fact that she recognized her father in a 2007 composite sketch, made from the eyewitness reports of those victims of his who managed to escape. Should her allegations prove true, this could at last bring peace to the generation that endured the terror of never knowing who the killer was, or when he might strike next.

SFPD would not call her in if they thought or knew she was not credible. They have had her evidence now officially for over a month. I think she is the daughter of this monster who used her as a road block distraction and letter writer. Forensic evidence will show it's her.
