The Manolith Stupid Human Awards, Part Two

It seems a sixty-five year old man in Bueno Aires named Marcos Ribles attempted to pass off two counterfeit bills as real currency: a hundred peso note and a fifty dollar bill. He was then caught and sent to trial, where the judges decreed that he go free. Why you ask? Because the reproductions were so shoddy that it was decided that no one would have been fooled by them.

Think about that for a second. You’re a creative guy who has dreams of pulling one over on the world by making your own money. You put everything you have into it and come away with what you think are pretty good fakes. Then, when you try to use them, not only are they detected – leading to your arrest – but at your trial your creations are mocked and called out as being of such poor quality that anyone can tell they’re false. And then, you master criminal, you, you’re let go! The final indignity! This is the sort of thing that makes people turn into supervillains!

Except, of course, in this case you’ve already tried it and failed. Nice job, stupid human! Welcome to the club, here’s your award.
