Guinness Book of Records ‘09
May 19, 2009 - London, England, United Kingdom - British adventurer RANULPH (RAN) FIENNES and holder of several endurance records was the first man to visit both the north and south poles by surface means and the first man to completely cross Antarctica on foot. According to the Guinness Book of World Records he is the greatest living adventurer. Ran is attempting to climb everest for the third time in 2009. He previously reached 8400m on the North side (Tibet) in 2005 with raising money for the British Heart Foundation, and a similar height in 2008 (from the South, Nepal) with guide Kenton Cool (raising money for the Marie Curie Cancer care). They are hoping to reach the summit on the morning of Thursday 21st May 2009.
